The Frutal necklace is a piece of artisanal jewellery in which every fruit is hand-woven, one by one, in dyed Iraca palm by artisans in Usiacuri, Atlantico. Yellow lemons, red and fuchsia strawberries, pineapples, cherries and watermelon slices with their green rind hang from a wide-link gold-tone chain, each finished with green leaves sewn at the stem. The weave uses a very fine strand and a closed stitch, which is what makes it possible to give volume to pieces this small with no filling and no resin: the fruit is fibre and nothing else. The result weighs very little for its size, so it stays comfortable for hours. This is a statement necklace, the kind you put over a white shirt or a plain dress and the outfit is done, and it works just as well in summer, on a trip, or at a celebration. Because each fruit is woven by hand, no two necklaces repeat exactly the same combination of colours.
